Occupational therapy uses specific activities and methods to improve, develop and/or restore the performance of independent daily functions, compensate for dysfunctions and enhance development of available skills.

This may include the use of adaptive equipment, physical retraining, or environmental modification to increase independence in self care.

All areas of upper extremity rehabilitation are also included to improve range of motion and strength using various modalities as needed in combination with therapeutic exercises.

These programs are designed to decrease deficits and return the patient to maximum level of function in daily activities.
